Outdoor Classrooms & Environmental Education
This initiative provides students across the district with dynamic, interactive outdoor learning environments that elevate traditional learning experiences. Access to environmental learning is critical to meeting Minnesota education standards and to the development of a child’s brain. The goal is to expand learning outside the four walls of the classroom, building on social/emotional awareness and human environment interactions.
Books for Young Children in the District
Young residents of the Mounds View School District receive an age-appropriate book each year on their birthday along with resources to help families engage in the district. Early access to books has been proven to be a cornerstone to educational success for children. The goal is to engage resident families early, build community ties, and promote Early Childhood Education programs from birth through kindergarten.
Access to Musical Instruments
Music education has long been a source of pride and active participation across Mounds View Public Schools. From being exposed to band and orchestra fundamentals in elementary schools, all the way up to performing challenging pieces in high schools, students involved in music form a special community. Working in partnership with the district, our foundation supports increasing access to school-owned instruments, making band and orchestra accessible to all families and students who want to participate in the music program.
Equity Promise Scholarship
Each spring, the district awards Equity Promise Scholarships to seniors from Irondale High School, Mounds View High School and the Area Learning Center (ALC), recognizing a broad range of students who have demonstrated success and perseverance in their high school journeys. Funded in part by our foundation, Mounds View Public Schools awarded $152,394 to 131 students in 2024.
